One Journey. Four Remarkable Regions.

Southern Africa offers an extraordinary variety of landscapes, cultures and wildlife experiences. A journey connecting South Africa, Eswatini and Lesotho allows travellers to experience very different environments within one extended holiday.

From open savannah and Big Five wildlife in Kruger to the cultural landscapes of Eswatini, the highlands of Lesotho and the forests and coastline of the Garden Route, this is an opportunity to explore beyond a conventional South African itinerary.

Rawson Touring can discuss a private itinerary based on your preferred dates, accommodation standard, travel pace and destinations.

Explore the Southern Africa Route

A suggested journey connecting four distinctive regions. The final route, overnight stops and border arrangements are planned around your travel dates and preferences.

01

Kruger National Park, South Africa

Begin with an African safari in one of the continent’s most recognised wildlife destinations. Explore Kruger’s landscapes and enjoy opportunities to encounter elephants, lions, buffalo, leopards, rhinos and many other species.

02

Eswatini – The Kingdom in the Mountains

Continue into Eswatini, a landlocked kingdom known for its mountains, valleys, cultural heritage and wildlife areas. Depending on the itinerary, explore the Ezulwini Valley, local cultural experiences and selected nature reserves.

03

Lesotho – The Mountain Kingdom

Discover Lesotho’s dramatic highland scenery, mountain communities and distinctive cultural landscape. The route can include the Maloti Mountains and selected destinations depending on road conditions, season and available time.

04

The Garden Route, South Africa

Return to South Africa and explore its celebrated southern coastline. Possible stops include Oudtshoorn, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay and Tsitsikamma, with opportunities for nature, scenic drives and coastal experiences.

05

Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula

Complete your journey in Cape Town. Explore Table Mountain, the Cape Peninsula, Cape Point, Boulders Beach and selected Cape Winelands destinations according to your itinerary.

How Long Should You Allow?

This is an extended overland journey rather than a short regional excursion. The number of days depends on how much time you want to spend in each country and the driving distances involved.

A longer itinerary allows more time for Kruger, Eswatini’s cultural and natural attractions, Lesotho’s mountain scenery and the Garden Route.

We recommend discussing your available holiday time before confirming a route. We will assess the practical driving schedule and overnight stops rather than trying to fit too much into too few days.

Important International Travel Planning

Travelling through Eswatini and Lesotho involves international border crossings. These arrangements must be confirmed before departure.

Passport & Visa Requirements

Entry requirements depend on your nationality, passport and itinerary. Check the official immigration requirements for every country before booking.

Vehicle & Border Arrangements

Cross-border vehicle permissions, insurance, registration documents and operator arrangements must be confirmed before the journey.

Road Conditions & Timing

Mountain roads, border operating hours, weather and driving distances influence the final itinerary and overnight stops.

Important: This is a proposed travel concept, not a confirmed fixed departure or guaranteed itinerary. Visa requirements, border operating hours, road conditions, vehicle permissions and accommodation availability must be checked for the actual travel dates. Travellers are responsible for meeting the entry requirements applicable to their passports.
